Students at the University of Florida’s Center for Arts in Medicine learned about the intersections between public art and the arts in public health, brainstormed and assisted with mosaic tile placement.
Student Nicole Perez said, “This was super cool and really engaging. It felt meaningful because I’ve never been part of a real-life art facilitation before. Being involved in the process and seeing how everything came together was impactful and eye-opening. It showed me what community arts look like in practice, how people participate, how the activity is guided, and how everyone contributes in their own way. It made me appreciate the collaborative side of art and gave me a better understanding of how these kinds of programs are run.”
